Today is the final day of May and the weather has been excellent over the past few days. It genuinely feels like summer is just around the corner, and all the trees, lawns, and plants are turning green and blooming. It’s lovely to wake up to sunshine, the sound of buzzing bumblebees in the garden flower beds, and a very nice “Good Morning” text from A.

We both make sure to send a simple ‘good night’ or ‘good morning’ text every night and every morning. It’s a nice way to start and end the day. She’s an early bird, usually sending the text first. I always receive a friendly response like ‘sleepy head’ two or three hours after she gets up. I appreciate our ability to share that kind of humor between us.

During the earlier part of the week, I had a rehearsal with my band. It feels great to play again and I really enjoy being around these amazing people. We have played in a band together for about 15 years since high school. Although there was a period where we couldn’t play together, it felt like no time had passed when we reunited. Playing together again was just as fun as it always was. We have several weddings to perform this summer, which is always enjoyable. The pay is also excellent and provides a nice bonus for hanging out and playing music with good friends.
